More than 500 parents and carers praise North Wales college in new study

PROUD parents gave Coleg Cambria a glowing report in a new education survey.

More than 500 mums, dads and carers praised the north east Wales college in a variety of categories, including 98% for overall satisfaction.

The study has taken place over the last three years, and every year there has been a more positive response and an increase in participation.

The report also found that:

  • 99% say their son or daughter is expected to work hard and do their best
  • 99% say their son or daughter is learning new skills
  • 98% positive response rate about the high quality of the learning opportunities

These figures follow an outstanding year for Cambria, which has sites in Wrexham, Deeside, Northop and Llysfasi.

Last month they received the best work-based learning (WBL) inspection in Wales to date from Estyn, the education and training inspectorate.

The ambition, skill and enthusiasm of learners, economic impact, staff progression and burgeoning links with industry heavyweights across North Wales were praised, as was the leadership of chief executive David Jones and his management team.

Reflecting on the parent survey, Mr Jones said the experience of everyone in the Coleg Cambria ‘family’ is important.

“We are delighted with this feedback because to educate and care for these students is a big responsibility and an honour for us,” he added.

“These parents and carers have entrusted us with the academic, cultural and social journey of their children, and expect us to meet their own high standards.

“To see that we are doing that year in year out – and improving every year in their eyes – makes us want to strive for even better in the future.”
