Oakwood is bringing back its popular After Dark events this summer

Wales’ biggest theme park, Oakwood, will be opening its doors into the night as the park’s popular ‘after dark’ events return for another year.

The Pembrokeshire-based attraction will stay open until 10pm twice a  week throughout August, giving visitors the chance to ride, dance and sing as the sun goes down

The events, taking place every Wednesday and Saturday, except Wednesday 29th August, with Bank Holiday Monday 27th August instead, will feature live bands, DJs, paint parties and illuminated rides lighting up the sky.

Adrenaline-filled rollercoasters such as Megafobia and Speed, will see their tracks lit up, allowing guests to take a spin on them in the dark. Visitors will also be able to take a late-night dip on the wet and wild Waterfalls and Drenched as well as fly through the night on Peter Pan’s Magical World of Neverland.

The events will welcome the return of the popular Colourfest UV Paint Party, where visitors will be able to join in the fun and get covered in brightly coloured paint. Guests wanting to attend are urged to bring white tops  – which they do not mind getting covered in paint – and join in the fun, dance to the music, and get covered in bright and colourful paint.

New to this year, the park will also host its own ‘KaraOAKe’ where visitors of all ages will be encouraged to join in and sing along to their favourite songs on the lawn led by local singer, Lowri Wyn.

Attendees will be able to enjoy entertainment from local musicians and bands, who will play a mix of originals and classic songs, professional dancers, as well as DJs who will play today’s most popular hits, while  a firework display will bring the festivities to a close.

Set in 90 acres of spectacular Pembrokeshire countryside, Oakwood Theme Park is Wales’ biggest theme park with more than 30 exhilarating attractions, including five adrenaline rides to enjoy.

Taking place for only one month a year the after dark events have proven very popular with more than 20,000 attendees last year. Visitors can save up to 20% on tickets by booking online 48 hours in advance of their visit.

Oakwood will be open from 10am – 10pm two nights a week throughout August.

The after dark events will take place every Wednesday and Saturday, except Wednesday 29th August, with Bank Holiday Monday 27th August taking its place.
