After gaining exceptional A Level Results in English, Drama, Sociology, Media Studies, Art and Business Studies alongside Welsh Baccalaureate, St David’s alumna, Aisha Saeed will be pursuing a Business Management degree at the University of South Wales, starting this September.

Following her outstanding academic achievements, Aisha has achieved a fully sponsored degree with a Network75 student status, allowing her to combine work and study as she pursues her degree. During term-time, Network75 students work in a local business three days per week and attend university for two days per week, also working full-time at their host company throughout holiday periods. This scheme has a 100% employability rate post-degree completion at the student’s host company, making it a highly sought after opportunity.

Speaking of her journey and results, Aisha said:

“I decided to take an additional three A-levels because I realised I wanted more from my degree. I used my two years at St David’s to gain as much knowledge as possible and the college was a great place to do that. It was a positive place to really develop myself as a well-rounded academic student and become a thoughtful and articulate individual in my community. I am really grateful to everyone who pushed me to be the best I can be and I am so glad that my results reflect that.”

St David’s Catholic College has supported thousands of students since it opened its doors in 1987, helping individuals like Channel 4 weather presenter Liam Dutton, Kris Agland of the Cardiff Devils and Stella actress Catrin Stewart, achieve their goals and prosper.

St David’s College Principal, Mark Leighfield said:

“We are all very pleased to see Aisha reach her goals and attain continued success as she enters the world of university. She is an ambitious student and will no doubt go on to achieve incredible things.

“At St David’s, we pride ourselves on nurturing successful students in a stimulating and supportive learning environment. We offer a variety of courses, tailored to all, ranging from STEM subjects, to humanities in both A Level and BTEC pathways. As we enter the next academic year, we will continue to uphold our high standards and ensure that all students receive the exceptional teaching and support needed for them to thrive, whatever their end goal may be.”

Based in Penylan, St David’s is the only 16-19 state funded sixth-form college in Wales, helping to nurture successful students through supportive and stimulating learning environment.
