Leading Welsh PR agency Effective Communication has made three new promotions and an appointment as it continues to build on its recent success in its 20th year.

Effective Communication, which supports organisations with PR, digital and video expertise, has promoted Ffion Pocock to account director and Catherine Felton and Catrin Powney to account manager.

Account director Ffion originally joined Effective as a graduate in 2014, before spending two years working for Network Rail and returning to Effective in 2018. Since her return she has led a number of key client accounts and helped drive new business.

Ffion said: “I’m thrilled with my new role as account director. I’m looking forward to taking on the challenges and rewards this promotion will bring, as well as helping Effective continue to thrive.”

Catherine, who has a background in media communications, joined Effective just before the pandemic in January 2020 as an office assistant before becoming more closely involved in the PR and social media side of the business. Since then, she has become an invaluable member of the team, overseeing client campaigns and recently completing a diploma level 4 in proofreading and editing.

Catrin initially came to Effective on a work placement in 2019 before returning as a full-time account executive in 2021. In her time with the company she has worked on a diverse range of client accounts.

The PR agency has also appointed graduate Savannah Perry to the team as an account executive following a successful summer internship.

Alastair Milburn, managing director of Effective Communication said: “Congratulations to Ffion, Catherine and Cat. These promotions are in recognition not just of their hard work but also the consistently high calibre of the work that they produce for the business and our clients.

“The last few years have seen a lot of changes for Effective but the three of them have consistently gone above and beyond to ensure that our reputation for quality doesn’t waver. I look forward to seeing how each of them progresses in their new role, but I am certain that they will all flourish and continue to be an asset to the company.

“We are also delighted to welcome Savannah to Effective, who has already proven herself to be a great support to the team and our clients. It’s exciting to see the company develop and grow as we enter our 20th year.”
