Business owner, Oli Ford of My Window Cleaner Cardiff City & the Vale, is celebrating a huge success after being crowned the winner of the prestigious Federation of Small Business (FSB) Celebrating Small Business Awards 2024 in Wales. Aged 29, Oli has been honoured by a panel of judges with the Franchise Business Award for performing exceptionally well in all areas of his business and will be presented with the accolade at a ceremony in Cardiff on 28th March.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to have been given such an esteemed award,” said Oli. “Having only launched the business in 2022, it’s been an amazing couple of years for me so far. It’s incredibly satisfying to know that my unwavering commitment to my franchise business, which is founded on attention to detail and exceptional customer engagement, has led to significant growth and multiple awards both in Cardiff and nationally. I am hugely proud to be recognised for the professional window cleaning and exterior home services we offer across Cardiff.”

Launched in February 2022, My Window Cleaner has become a core pillar of the local home services industry and is the number one rated window cleaning business in Wales. Serving hundreds of households in the last year alone and transforming the community’s expectations of a historically unreliable and inconsistent service, Oli sees this award as further motivation to reach more people in Cardiff and to transform his business and operation into a true community-driven place to help foster positive change. One example is the work with Cardiff-based charity, Boomerang, to help local families and people living in poverty live with dignity and respect. Over the next few weeks, Oli will be reaching out to customers in the area for Easter Eggs donations, and he will be collecting them when visiting their properties.

“Offering a professional service for customers is something I’m passionate about, enabling me to make a real positive impact on people’s homes and lives, so this is a very proud moment for me. To see My Window Cleaner be acknowledged for the work I do across areas of Cardiff is just an unbelievable feeling. My mantra is simple: work hard to reap the benefits of life, and this is certainly paying off. This award is the cherry on the cake for me, as I also recently won Franchisee of the Year 2023 and was a finalist in several Cardiff and home service awards last year, including Cardiff Life Awards 2023 and Cardiff Property Awards 2023.”

Ben Cottam, Head of FSB in Wales, said: “Congratulations to Oli Ford for being a winner of the Wales FSB Celebrating Small Business Award. He is reflective of the vibrancy, innovation and tenacity that makes up our small business community. It’s been thrilling to see so many businesses in Wales enthusiastically take part in our awards, and the sheer scale and diversity of those who entered is a testimony to the vitality of the small business community in Wales. The best of luck to Oli for the UK national award finals in May.”

The FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards celebrate the best small businesses from the length and breadth of the country, offering national recognition for those who have made the biggest impression over the last 12 months. As a finalist, Oli Ford will now proceed to the national UK finals taking place on 9th May in Blackpool.
