The Women in Wales annual charity Lunch is taking place at the Mercure Holland House Hotel, Cardiff on Friday 26 April.

Following the 2023 lunch which was attended by over 300 guests, the Women in Wales committee donated £30,000 to five projects – Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice, Sandy Bear Bereavement charity, Pembrokeshire & Carmarthenshire Riding for the Disabled, Dreams & Wishes charity and Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society Food Story. A donation was also made to MPCT whose ‘learners’ help us at the lunch each year.

Since its inception this lunch has raised close to £1m to change the lives of children in Wales and around the World.  Since it was established as a charity in its own right, it continues to raise funds to change the lives of children in Wales. The Women in Wales volunteer committee is proud of this achievement.

This year’s lunch which is being attended by more than 300 guests will see profits donated to two chosen charities – Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity and the Paul Sartori Foundation.

Guests will be entertained by Guest Speaker Award-winning (ASVOFF) (Vogue ITALIA) and sustainable  fashion Designer Jayne Pierson who will be discussing her wonderful career with Sian Lloyd.

Jayne has been featured on the BBC, Vogue UK, Vogue ITALIA, French Vogue, Vogue China, Harpers Bazaar, Hunger, Dazed & Confused, Forbes Magazine and many other media outlets. She has created bespoke commissions for enumerable high-profile actors and actresses, US and British multi-awarded singers, musicians along with commissioned designs for special events, film and TV, the Royal Ballet, Range Rover, Aston Martin and is a favored designer of the British Royal Family.

Also, Entertaining the guests will be Welsh tenor Trystan Llyr Griffiths – who hails from Pembrokeshire, he is a renowned popular concert soloist, who performs on the international stage.

EweMoo (furniture maker in Ystradgynlais) owned by Beth Morgan Jones is very kindly donating a colourful sheep footstool as a centre piece for each table – there will be lots of lucky ladies taking a sheep home with them! Porsche Cardiff Centre another of our sponsors have kindly joined in the fun and their cars are loaded up ready to deliver the sheep to the Mercure Holland House Hotel.

The generosity of the guests is key to the funds raised and this year guests will enjoy bidding for some gorgeous items, again donated by Welsh businesses and some further afield.  Items include a fabulous Stevenson Brother Rocking horse, Fine dining at Pembrokeshire’s Green Michelin Star restaurant, Lunch with Sir Gareth and Lady Maureen Edwards, a pair of world-recognised Made in Wales Huit Jeans, Holidays UK and abroad, Maui Jim sunglasses, Family days out, Jewellery and lots more tempting items.

Women in Wales are delighted that Steve Speirs, Actor and Writer will be the Live Auctioneer.

There will also be 40+ incredible raffle prizes to be won as well as fun table prizes.

It is fantastic to see so many Welsh business’ supporting the Women in Wales charity lunch and recognising the achievements of Women in Wales, whilst raising money for children in Wales. We have to thank our sponsors – Bluestone National Park Resort (30th anniversary), JCP Solicitors (Platinum), Ewmoo, LHP Accountants, Dynamo, Foredowel, Porsche Cardiff Centre, PincSheep Media, Lyons Bowe and PureCyber.
