    This autumn, the Dramatic Heart of Wales, Neath Port Talbot, has a fantastic lineup of events celebrating the best of Welsh culture, sport, and seasonal thrills.

    1. Neath Food and Drink Festival: 4th to 5th October

    Kicking off the season is the renowned Neath Food and Drink Festival, on Friday the 4th and Saturday the 5th of October, from 10am to 5:30pm. The festival is a true celebration of Welsh produce, welcoming around 70 exhibitors, many of whom are local producers. Visitors can indulge in a variety of mouthwatering street food, artisanal treats, and fresh produce, all while sipping on craft beers. There will also be live music, cooking demos and craft stalls, making it the ultimate day out for families.

    1. Neath Arts Festival: 16th to 20th October

    Next on the agenda is the Neath Arts Festival, a dynamic celebration of creativity and culture. Running from the 16th to the 20th of October, the festival brings together an exciting lineup of live performances, art exhibitions, interactive workshops and family-friendly activities across Neath.

    From a reading by renowned DJ Huw Stephens as he celebrates the publication of his new book ‘Wales in 100 Records’ to painting workshops in Neath Rugby Club, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

    1. Wales v Jamaica Rugby League International: 15th October

    Sports fans will have a chance to witness history on the 15th of October as Wales takes on Jamaica in an exciting senior men’s rugby league international at The Lextan Gnoll in Neath. Kicking off at 7:30pm, this highly anticipated match promises high-energy action and is sure to be an unforgettable event.

    1. Fright Nights at Margam Castle: 18th October to 3rd November

    For those looking to embrace the Halloween spirit, Fright Nights at Margam Castle offers the ultimate spooky experience. From the 18th of October through to the 3rd of November, Margam Country Park will transform into a haunted playground. Families can indulge in devilishly delicious food and drinks from the street food vendors, toast ghostly marshmallows over the fire pits, and enjoy spooktacular fun at the fairground. There will also be a light-hearted Halloween family trail, for ages 5 and up, and an Extreme Horror trail for older guests who dare to face real terror.

    1. Richard Burton 10k: 3rd November

    Ending the season in style, the prestigious Richard Burton 10K Road Race is set to take place on the 3rd of November in the beautiful Cwmafan, Afan Valley. This event, a highlight of the UK running calendar, attracts top athletes from running clubs across the country. Whether one is a competitive runner or cheering from the sidelines, the race promises an electrifying atmosphere as participants speed through the scenic Welsh countryside.
