Charity delivers thousands of presents to south Wales hospitals

On the 17th December, Dreams & Wishes – a south Wales based children’s charity – went to spread some festive cheer throughout local hospitals via the Pony Express.

Having collected thousands of presents, the Queen’s Dragoon Guards joined forces with The Welsh Cavalry and their trustee pony to support Father Christmas in his heartwarming mission. The Express visited three hospitals across Swansea, Cardiff and the Newport area, including a visit to the recently opened University Grange Hospital. All gifts had been specially wrapped 3 weeks prior to their delivery date, ensuring they were Covid safe and ready to go.

The Pony Express interrupted its hospital drop-offs with a special visit to Cardiff’s ‘Christmas House’, expressing Dreams & Wishes’ thanks to Danny Hargreaves for his tremendous fundraising efforts. Danny’s front-garden-turned-movie-set has taken Christmas decorations to a whole new level, bringing visitors from miles around and raising huge amounts of money for Dreams & Wishes this year.

Tony Curtis MBE, Chairman of Dreams & Wishes said:

“It has been a really difficult year for everyone, we want to help put smiles on faces with fantastic presents given away to the children, nurses and doctors. We’re looking forward to 2021 where we can hopefully organise our popular trips, parties and family excursions for the seriously ill children and their families.”
