Welsh property developer, Rob Lloyd, is set to take on a series of incredible challenges over the next 12 months to raise funds to support specialist disability services in Wales, run by the national charity Sense.
The 57-year-old, who featured on Channel 4’s ‘The Secret Millionaire’, will begin ‘Rob’s Sense-less Challenge’ with the first challenge taking place in March at Skydive in Tilstock Cheshire where he will jump out of a plane.
The challenges that follow will see Rob take on a 26-mile marathon around Colwyn Bay, a 3 peaks challenge and SAS training in the Brecon Beacons, with more being planned.
Rob has supported Sense, a charity that offers specialist provision to people with complex disabilities, since running the London Marathon for them in 2019. He has since visited their services, including their day centre in Caerphilly, meeting staff and service users.
Rob’s support for Sense has extended to helping the charity open nine new charity shops in Wales, which have brought in new jobs and volunteering opportunities, and vital income for the charity.
Rob, who has previously appeared on Channel 4’s ‘The Secret Millionaire’ and ‘Building the Dream’, said: “I was thinking about what fundraising challenge I could take on to support Sense, and then I thought, why not do a series of challenges!? So that’s what I’ve got planned. Everyone thinks it’s a bit crazy, so it made sense to call it a ‘Sense-less Challenge’!
“There’s a serious side to all this – Sense do incredible work supporting families and people with complex disabilities. If my fundraising can help them reach more people, then it’ll be one of my proudest achievements.”
