One of the world’s best destinations has to be Wales. A nation of immense natural beauty, thousands of people from the UK and beyond flock to Wales every year to experience its stunning coastline and mountain-filled national parks. Wales is a very popular short-break destination and features some excellent hotels, a huge range of dining options and attractions.

The country’s most-visited city is Cardiff, however there’s loads of other places across the country to visit. From the city of Swansea to the coastal town of Tenby, there’s a broad array of things to do. Wales is also a really great place for those who love casino games. As Wales is part of the UK, visitors can enjoy gambling in both its land-based casinos as well as online with some of the best bingo sites to win on available. But why is gambling so popular in the Wales (and the UK as a whole?). And what about bingo? Read on to find out more.

    Gambling in the UK

The UK gambling industry has been growing rapidly over the past few days, and it still continues to expand year by year. Online gambling is one of the fastest growing sectors of casino gaming across the world — but it’s particularly popular in the UK for several reasons.

The UK gambling scene is immense with the transitioning of games going online, it has created more incentives to play even more.

    The demographics

Gambling is one of the favourite past-times of British people, with over 25 million adult gamblers fuelling the UK gambling industry — and 10.5 million of them betting online. Over 45% of British people gamble every month according to statistics — and the marketplace itself is worth about £14.3 billion per year with almost a third of the takings coming from online gambling.

And while many believe that gambling is for an older demographic, in the UK the activity is becoming more popular with younger demographics, with individuals between the ages of 25 to 34 years dominating the online gambling space. Those between 35 and 54 still take part though and contribute to 22$ of monthly online gambling.

What are the factors that contribute to the shift towards online gambling?

    Cost saving

One of the reasons that many people are gambling online over land-based casinos is because of the cost saving opportunities. Online gambling allows you to save on any expenses you’d have travelling to a brick-and-mortar casino as well as the cost of food and drinks you may be having as well. All those extras add up over time — and the affordability of the online versions of casinos are way many individuals prefer to do their gambling online.

There are several UK casinos online that have low deposits, which allow you to save more money. This is addition to the various offers and bonuses available and incentives that UK casinos have in place to keep players coming back.

One of the main advantages of gambling online is being able to strategically manage and save in expenses.

    Government changes

The growth of online casinos across Europe and especially the UK is due in large part because of the regulations that allow people to gamble. The UK government has taken strides forward to ensure that the gambling industry continues to grow while putting in measures to keep players safe. It’s these very liberal laws that have allowed the UK online casino industry to boom over the past few years.

    Convenience

Online casinos are incredibly convenient. If you’re playing in Wales you can enjoy your favourite games from the comfort of home, while on a commute or at a friend’s. All you need is a smart device, and you can be playing for real money in a matter of minutes with complete privacy. This convenience element has been a huge reason why people are playing their favourite games like bingo online.

Why bingo has continued to grow

Bingo has always been a popular game in the Wales — and indeed, across the UK — but is mostly associated with older generations in bingo halls. With more online casinos trying to attract new players and especially females, bingo has gone online. There’s a huge number of people now — and a younger demographic — playing their favourite games.

If you do happen to be a fan of bingo games and are in Wales, you can still enjoy them at brick and mortar locations. But you can also take advantage of the many factors we listed above and try playing your favourite bingo game online.

Many bingo games online now are built to be as engaging and entertaining as possible and have some extremely exciting features including video and sound — as well as some fantastic graphics. For bingo fans old and new, it’s an exciting time as the industry continues to grow and game developers work hard to make their bingo games the best on the market.

    Into the future

It’s likely that the online gambling industry in Wales will continue to grow. Game publishers will continue to try and diversify their audience in a bid to get new players and customers on board. For bingo fans, and all online casino game fans, the future looks very bright. And while no one can predict what will happen next, it’s likely that the online gambling space will get better than ever.
