The Covid-19 pandemic has introduced a different perspective on conducting business. Though, it has negatively affected the health and business sectors; Covid-19 has fully stamped the need for the digital transformation of many companies globally.  The digital migration to no-coding and low-code applications was there but not fully implemented by many enterprises.  However, the pandemic wave has hastened the process forcing almost all companies globally to board the no-code software development technology for their business.

Today businesses have experienced closure and no customers. This has triggered the need to invest in digital applications, which can access customers from the comfort of their homes.  No-code development systems are exclusive technology that doesn’t require rocket science knowledge to implement. The platforms allow businesses to develop an application that aligns with business and customer needs.

No-code and low-code applications are automated to fit every business without IT or programmers influence. Companies can create an app to serve multiple departments.  Today customers can order, shop and book appointments through mobile phones. This creates a bond with businesses without physically visiting the stores or health centres.  Businesses can utilize their technical teams and employees to develop custom applications.

    How does no-code work?

No-code is pretty simple to understand and implement compared to the traditional coding method. The platform is designed with preinstalled features that automated the development of apps. The user needs to drag and drop the app and utilize it on different business systems. No-code development doesn’t consume time like hand-coding process. The developers or technical team will assemble the details required and create according to their interests.

Traditional development software consumed time and resources by hiring IT experts and programmers. The process wasn’t guaranteed and sometimes failed to meet the business expectations. Low-code/no-code platforms offer the ease of changing to align with the current needs of the Company.  It’s unique since it involves customer’s feedback, thus creating what they need.  No-code platforms use visual graphics and accessible features that are compatible with the business.

Reasons why businesses need no-code today

    1. Offers opportunity for citizen developers

No-codding platforms offer a new revolution to businesses. They are not limited to IT experts but allow Company users to develop and utilize the systems.  Business employees easily convert to business developers. The platforms are controlled and managed by any person with basic or no basic IT knowledge.  Businesses don’t require professionals to recode or write codes to launch new applications.

Citizen developers can operate simple applications such as tracking apps. The constant process will help the users learn and develop the necessary skills to create new apps or change apps to suit the organization needs.

    2. Using of internal resources and reducing development cost

The no-code platform reduces the need to hire or outsource coding experts. The majority of Companies outsources IT professionals and incurred high cost of development. The process took months to complete and sometimes failed. The hand-coding process deprived businesses to contribute ideas, thus creating apps based on the IT programmers. Today companies have invested in a no-code platform, a process that doesn’t require any professional integration.

The Company employees can develop any custom apps using a no-code system. It’s easy, fast and doesn’t utilize any funds. Companies can direct their money to new projects and increase revenue. It’s an excellent way to enhance skills to the in-house users without incurring any cost.

    3. Encourages collaboration (IT, business and customers)

The traditional coding process didn’t incorporate employees or customers. The IT team developed codes that required regular changes that took ages to complete. The process was expensive and tiring, thus delaying development and revenue production. However, no-code introduced a new perspective by including customers, business and IT team in the plan.

Before creating or changing any application, businesses request clients for feedback and modify it based on their needs. This reduces the need to change the applications regularly. The platform has encouraged collaboration among departments; the IT department works with HR and sales teams to maintain a common goal. The IT team can help other departments understand the coding process. They can solve challenging issues and remain effective in the company.

The Majority of IT developers feel threaten by the no-codding system. However, it’s quite the opposite since it eases operations. This means they can develop quality apps and software for businesses to help increase revenue.  Many companies have kept the IT department intact, giving them the freedom to collaborate and digitalize other departments.
    Factors under collaboration

    · Common goal

The no-code platform has enhanced the collaboration spirit, which allows for a common goal in Companies. All departments should work for one purpose, which is improving their business and offering quality services.

    · Language

The new digital coding system helps the IT department, customers and businesses to use a common language.  In the past, companies relied on IT to operate; it was effective and consumed time and resources. No-code offers different strategies and allows for communication.

    4. Fast response to change management

The no-coding platforms are different in terms of modifying the custom application. The platform uses visual graphics that are easy to drag and drop. The same applies while changing an app; the user doesn’t require to create from scratch.  This helps keep up with constant changes in the business world. Suppose clients need new developments; businesses can modify the existing app to suit the need.  It allows business users to gain more skills in different fields and also addresses issues fast and effectively. Users save on cost and human resources since no professional help is required.

    Conclusion

Business growth is propelled by the use of correct software tools and efforts from business users. No-code platforms allow for expansion and revenue growth if well utilized. Businesses can be guaranteed of increase if they effectively use digital tools. One can expect agility, a feature required by many customers today. Companies must work fast and adapt to new changes to keep up with the market and digital transformation. No code improves productivity and collaboration, thus uniting departments for the same goal.
