The wholesale regeneration of a former British Steelworks site at Brymbo, near Wrexham has taken a major step forward with the acquisition of a 2.4 hectare development site by Taylor Wimpey North West.
The development, to be known as Coed Issa, will provide a collection of 70 new three and four bedroom homes designed for first time buyers and growing families. All homes will be available for private sale and will offer a combination of detached and semi-detached houses.
The first new homes are expected by be available to buy from December 2021 and completed by summer 2022.
Brymbo Developments Ltd, the developer behind the wider masterplan for the site, recently secured the go-ahead for a mixed-use development comprising up to 300 new homes. In addition to the new homes, the development will deliver a new primary school, a new custom-built surgery, ancillary care facilities, a pub restaurant, retail units, children’s play areas, public footpaths, landscaping and 32 acres of public open space.

The site was acquired on behalf of Brymbo Developments Limited in 1992, a subsidiary of Parkhill Estates,following the closure of the Brymbo Steelworks in 1990.
