Business Butler is investing in the future by providing rewarding work experience opportunities for young people. The Swansea based on-demand matching platform for startups and SMEs has taken on several participants during the past six months from the UK Government’s Kickstart Scheme and has recently added another four to the team. The scheme was devised to create thousands of new jobs for young people aged 16-24 at a time when it is needed most.

Business Butler Founder and CEO, Bhupinder Sidhu is excited at being able to be help kickstart young people’s careers in the most challenging of times, as he explains here:

“Opportunities for youngsters these days seem to be few and far between compared to when I started my career. The training I received in my youth equipped me well for later life and spurred me on in my journey as an entrepreneur.

“If we can help the careers of youngsters by providing them with valuable training and work experience then they can learn transferrable skills that will set them up for a promising future.”

Deb Barrow, Business Butler’s HR Director, has been keen not only to give these young people a job placement for six months but also to support them with employability skills mentoring so that they can use the experience as a stepping-stone to their next job opportunity, which is exactly what Sophie Price is doing.

Sophie has secured a contract of employment following a successful six months working for Cybata Ltd – a member of the Business Butler panel of experts.

Chris Roberts, Managing Director of Cybata Ltd is delighted with Sophie’s contribution during her placement and says:

“Sophie joined us in September as a Social Media Assistant. Very quickly Sophie demonstrated her desire to learn and be involved in more than just social media work. By mid-October Sophie was actively pushing the business to give her more work to keep her challenged and engaged.

“Cybata is thrilled to have now been able to employ Sophie on a part-time basis beyond the period covered by the Kickstarter program. Sophie will be helping the business in the areas of service development and marketing. We are excited for our business and the opportunity to help Sophie continue to develop and hone her skills and capability – Sophie is a real asset to the business.”

Business Butler also offers opportunities to students, as Deb Barrow explains:

“Every year we take on an intern from Swansea University. Last summer Lloyd joined us having just graduated with a degree from its School of Management. As his interest and specialist subject was marketing, he joined us in the role of Social Media Marketing Assistant.

“The experience and knowledge Lloyd gained at Business Butler has enabled him to start his dream career in marketing with a company closer to his home in east Wales.”
