Darwin Escapes is preparing to further its influence on family and couple’s staycations in north Wales, as the Plas Isaf Lodge Retreat – the fifth resort of its kind in the area – moves towards its opening in the spring of 2023.

Located just outside the village of Caerwys, the Plas Isaf project first broke ground in May 2022, and in early 2023 is set to unveil more than 60 high-end lodges. There will be a selection of holiday homes for sale and a range of lodges available to book, some even boasting private hot tubs.

As with all other Darwin Escapes projects, significant work will be done to preserve the current environment on site, with existing buildings and grounds undergoing extensive preservation work to support the local wildlife including a badger colony.

Set amongst mature trees, the site is surrounded by the stunning landscape that Darwin Escapes properties have become known for, especially in north Wales, with local woodland in Pwll Gwyn wood and hills like Moel y Parc.

Guests will also have plenty of local amenities to enjoy during their stay, with a nearby golf club, aquatics centre and a choice of rural gastro pubs that serve delicious family meals with influences from the local culture.

It will join an already strong offering in the area by one of the UK’s largest staycation providers, with Aberconwy, New Pines, Seaview and Talacre Beach within a 50-mile radius and already making the best of the incredible scenery along the north Welsh coast.

Lindsey Esse, managing director of Darwin Escapes, said: “The new Plas Isaf Lodge Retreat will be a fantastic addition to the existing resorts in north Wales, which already do a brilliant job of highlighting the stunning landscape of this part of the UK.

“With a mixture of holiday accommodation and holiday home ownership opportunities, Plas Isaf Lodge Retreat will be an exciting option for everyone looking to explore breathtaking north Wales, including those who may be looking to experience the area for the first time. We look forward to welcoming new holiday homeowners and holiday guests to our brand-new luxurious lodge resort in 2023.”
