Athena Security set to change the face of corporate event security and close protection VIP security in Wales.

Newly launched Athena Security is having a profound impact on the way in which large scale corporate events and close protection VIP security is delivered. Traditionally the look and feel of security for events and VIPs has often been an off-putting and somewhat confrontational approach. Director, Hannah Whittingham and  Head of Security Natalie O’Shea are determined to bring a modern and professional approach to the industry. With a combined 30 years of military and close protection experience, both are highly skilled in this challenging environment.

Hannah Whittingham said, “Over the years the public has seen a very different style of event and VIP security. Often being confronted by a giant person standing on a door or moving through a crowd which can be incredibly unnerving. This inevitably leads to more difficult situations. Athena is completely different in our approach. We focus upon detailed preparation and the soft skills that enable people to remain safe but treated with courtesy and kindness. It’s the work the public doesn’t see that keeps them safe and able to enjoy an event that creates successful outcomes.”

Natalie O’Shea added, “With our decades of high level military experience in combat zones, diplomatic security, and medical training, we match this with a more nuanced and people friendly approach to security. The key to any event is to reassure from a distance.”

Athena has already secured major event contracts in Wales. They are now the official security partners for the Welsh Fitness Expo, South Wales Business Awards and South Wales Law Awards. Athena has also won several high profile VIP contracts moving forward.

With major contract wins and a different approach as a USP, Athena is set for a bright future.
