Fundraising volunteers have taken to the fairway to help raise vital funds in aid of the children’s charity, NSPCC Cymru/Wales.

The popular annual charity golf day, held at Cardiff Golf Club on Friday, September 16, raised around £4,000.

The Cardiff Cars team ran out winners at the event, which also included a shotgun start and was followed by a barbecue and prize draw.

Organised by volunteers from the NSPCC’s Cardiff Central fundraising district, the event has been running for more than 30 years.

Louise Hughes, NSPCC fundraising volunteer who helped organise the event, said: “The annual charity golf day is always a popular event, and this year was certainly no exception.

“Our teams of supporters enjoyed taking on the fairways of this stunning course, while having the chance to get together and enjoy some friendly competition.

“The money raised will make a huge difference to the lives of children and young people supported by the NSPCC.”

All funds raised will help support the NSPCC in its work protecting children and young people, and preventing abuse and neglect, including via its Childline service.

Children can contact Childline 24/7 on 0800 11 11 or via childline.org.uk where 1-2-1 online chats can be requested.

Anyone with any concerns about the welfare of a child can call the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000, or by emailing [email protected] or can visit nspcc.org.uk for advice.
