Street Food Cinema, Cardiff’s pop-up drive-in movie and street food experience is returning for its third year from Friday 28 October to Sunday 6 November.

The halloween-themed movie line-up, billed as a ten day Fright Fest, includes a special Day of the Dead night on Wednesday 2 November. Horror classics on the bill include A Nightmare on Elm Street, Silence of the Lambs and The Craft alongside family Halloween favourites like Ghostbusters – Afterlife, Coco and Cruella.

To help get people into the Halloween spirit, Street Food Cinema is holding a fancy dress competition throughout the run with a £250 prize for the best costume. The top five costumes will be announced on 6 November and compete via social media likes to become the 2022 winner.

Street Food Cinema combines the classic drive-in movie experience, with a celebration of local independent street food favourites include Smoking Griddle, Big Apple Hot Dogs, Mr Nacho Nacho Nacho and Bare Bones wood-fired pizza and fries. To complete the movie night experience Street Food Cinema’s Legendary Movie Sweet Sharer Boxes can be pre-ordered when booking tickets.

Street Food Cinema is a Street Food Circus production. Matt the Hat, its founder and ‘ringmaster’ said:

“After an amazing summer at Roath Yard and a magical Forest Feastival, it’s great to be bringing the SFC experience back to Cardiff with our Street Food Cinema drive-in. We’ve got an incredible big screen and an amazing halloween-themed production to give people an unforgettable Fright Fest experience.

“We’re always looking for ways to combine unique experiences with the best street food that Wales has to offer – and we’ve got some big names lined up to take cinema classics to the next level.

“And for everyone who comes this autumn, as well as having an amazing night out, you’ll also be supporting local independent food businesses, artists and event producers,” he said.

The Street Food Cinema returns for a final year under cover at the Splott Market site. Tickets can be ordered from streetfoodcinema.co.uk and are £25 per car (max five people per car). This will be the last Street Food Cinema at Splott as the site is being redeveloped.

A range of show times includes lunchtime matinees, afternoon family films and late night horror movies from Friday 28 October to Sunday 6 November.
