The play area at Heol Llanishen Fach is to get an oak-themed refurbishment, complete with acorn and oak leaf shaped features, in addition to log sculptures, accessible play equipment, and new seating.

Cabinet Member for Culture, Parks and Events, Cllr Jennifer Burke-Davies, said: “The play area at Heol Llanishen Fach is the latest facility to benefit from our ongoing £3.2 million programme of investment in parks and play areas across Cardiff. Once completed it should be a fantastic facility for local families to enjoy.”

The designs include a toddler area as well as a junior play area, and are designed to appeal to children from the age of 5 upwards, encouraging imaginative play, climbing, education, and physical activity.

Children with as wide a range of abilities as possible are catered for, and play equipment will include a wheelchair accessible roundabout, and accessible swings.

The works also include a new circular seating area, as well as other additional and restored seating and bins.

Refurbishment work is due to commence in January and is currently expected to be completed in spring 2023.
