    This Easter, National Trust Cymru invites visitors to pop on their ears and hop into the easter holidays at Penrhyn Castle and Garden.

    Between April 1 and 10, a ten-point trail follows the adventures of the mouse and stoat as they meet their spring animal friends around the grounds and the castle at Penrhyn. The easter adventures trail gives the entire family a chance to get out and about with a range of activities to complete, including a game of hopscotch or the challenge of finding their way around a maze.  For the first time, the easter trail will be leading visitors into the castle to find mice in the grand rooms.

    Colourful eggs can be spotted around the grounds before children can collect their very own treat at the end of the Easter egg hunt, choosing from either a chocolate egg or a vegan and Free From chocolate egg. Both eggs are made using Rainforest Alliance Certified cocoa.

    Charlotte Mckernon, Visitor Experience Officer at Penrhyn Castle, said;

    ‘This easter visitors will be immersed into the world of spring animals as they follow the story of the mouse and stoat around Penrhyn Castle. We’ve been lucky to work with some incredible local artists who have crafted sculptures to really bring the story to life.’

    The trail will display some incredible animal sculptures crafted by local artists, like a giant frog created by Wispy Willows Creations and rabbits carved by Ian Williams Chainsaw Carving.

    The garden and grounds at Penrhyn Castle come to life in the spring, as daffodils brighten up the castle Keep, a beautiful tulip display adorns the Walled Garden and a walk around the grounds reveals the blossom of the Rhododendrons, Camelia, and Azalea.

    The easter trail runs between April 1 and 10 and costs £3 per child. This includes a trail sheet, pencil and chocolate egg. Normal admission prices do apply and Penrhyn Castle is open between 10am and 4pm, with last entry at 3pm.
