Swansea City Centre businesses who go the extra mile to make their customers smile will be rewarded for their exceptional customer service, with a new awards scheme launched by Swansea BID (Business Improvement District).

Swansea BID’s Extra Mile Awards will recognise business of all kinds throughout the Swansea BID area whose staff go the extra mile to keep their customers and clients happy.

A winning business will be chosen by Swansea BID every quarter, based upon positive customer reviews and feedback, and based upon the observations of the Swansea BID team itself. The first winning business will be selected at the beginning of May 2018.

Projects Manager at Swansea BID, Amelia Rudman, said: “I’m delighted to launch Swansea BID’s Extra Mile awards, in recognition of the hard work that is being carried out day-in, day-out by our Swansea BID Businesses, to keep Swansea shoppers and visitors happy.

“Businesses up and down the country are operating in times of great change, with shifts in the way we spend our leisure time and how we spend our money, and we are proud of the way Swansea BID Businesses are proving themselves to be adaptable in meeting the needs and expectations of their clients and customers. However, one thing that doesn’t change is the fact that customer experience and customer service are paramount.

“We see so many positive examples of our Swansea BID Businesses going the extra mile to keep customers happy and I would urge anyone who has enjoyed a great customer care experience, or who routinely gets great service with a smile from a City Centre business – whether it is from a sales assistant in a retail store, checkout staff at a supermarket, waiting staff or baristas in your favorite café or restaurant, or help from your local bank in sorting out a tricky issue, to let us know by emailing: [email protected] so we can consider them for an Extra Mile award.”

The winning businesses will receive a winner’s rosette, window sticker and website artwork so they can shout about their great customer service, and they will be profiled on the Swansea BID’s website: https://www.swanseabid.co.uk/
