    A 17-year-old boy has appeared before Westminster Magistrates Court this week (Wednesday June 7) where he has pleaded guilty to five terrorist offences and three other offences. This follows a series of racially offensive and homophobic daubings at various sites across South Wales, as well a further investigation into online activities.

    The boy, who comes from Port Talbot, was charged with:

    • Three Counts of S2 TACT 2006 – Dissemination of terrorism material;
    • Two counts of S58 TACT 2000 – Possession of material likely to be of use to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism;
    • Two Counts of Racially Aggravated Criminal Damage to the Windrush Mural in Port Talbot;
    • One Count of Homophobically Aggravated Criminal Damage in Cardiff City Centre

    He was bailed to allow for a pre-sentence report and will be sentenced on 21st August 2023.
