A quartet of Wales rugby legends is set to line up for a charity dinner and Rugby World Cup Q&A this October.

The main draw of the evening, Sir Gareth Edwards, named consistently as one of the best rugby players of all time, will be treating guests to a rugby-filled evening of world cup insights at The Bear Hotel, Cowbridge on October 17. Sir Gareth will be joined by popular Wales internationals Nicky Robinson, Richie Rees and Ellis Jenkins.

The event, organised by Talbot Green-based Hospital Innovations, a leading supplier of human tissue and surgical equipment, will see proceeds benefit the Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity. The charity, established by the rugby legend of the same name, provides support for young people aged 15-35 who live in Wales, are receiving treatment for cancer and are struggling financially.

The evening will see guests enjoy a three-course dinner, followed by a Q&A session with the rugby stars, focusing on tales from their time on the field, and even some tour secrets. A host of prizes are also on offer, including signed memorabilia, tickets to a Wales v Barbarians game and four-ball golf at a number of local courses.

Hospital Innovations has many links to the rugby community, with ex Rugby Union players Nick Macleod, David Seymour and Duane Goodfield all joining the sales and marketing functions of the firm in recent years.

Hospital Innovations began a quest to raise £15,000 for its chosen charities this year, in honour of its 15thanniversary. This event follows on from a team fundraising walk for blood cancer charity DKMS in July, where over £1500 was raised.

On the charity dinner event, Phil Davies, Chairman, Hospital Innovations, said: “Sport has an immense power to bring people together for a greater cause, and that’s what we’re hoping to achieve with our upcoming charity dinner.

“I’m sure that the presence of these rugby legends will not only inspire our guests, but also ignite their passion for supporting this incredibly valuable cause. It’s set to be a brilliant evening.”

The Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity dinner and Q&A will be held at The Bear Hotel, Cowbridge, on October 17 at 6:45pm. Tickets are £50 and tables of 10 are currently available. To book, tel 07808 254792 or email [email protected]
