Last night, thousands of students from across South Wales and beyond headed to Cardiff city centre to attend the UK’s biggest student shopping event – Student Night by St David’s.

This year’s event had a new twist, running from 4-9pm, and the centre came to life as excited students from universities and colleges took advantage of the epic discounts, freebies and music throughout the centre.

Over 100 brands participated in the event, offering discounts of up to 30% and exclusive offers. Participating retailers and restaurants included Apple, Calvin Klein, Stradivarius, H&M, Foot Asylum, Oliver Bonas, Virgin Holidays, Krispy Kreme and Barburrito.

In addition to great shopping and food, the night was filled with entertainment and live music from local favourites, The Live Lounge, Climax Promotions and Capital FM.

Hywel Butcher, marketing manager of St David’s Cardiff, commented:

“We asked students what they loved about Student Night and what could make it better, and we’ve done just that. This year, students came along between 4-9pm without having to queue and were able to shop for longer so we’re thrilled by it’s continued success!

“The centre was packed from start to finish, and everyone who came along had a great time – the atmosphere was fantastic. Great way to start the new academic term!”
