DRS Facilities Management, a company that provides specialist engineering solutions to the facilities management sector, has seen a sharp increase in business due to a demand for electric vehicle (EV) chargers at a variety of premises across the UK.
DRS has been enlisted by a large number of new and existing clients to install EV chargers, with the company anticipating further demand in this area of the business as the EV market continues to grow.

The Committee on Climate Change (CCC) envisages EVs accounting for 60 per cent of new car and van sales by 2030. The CCC also claims almost 29,000 charging points are needed throughout Great Britain by 2030 to meet future EV charging requirements.
Mark Phillips, managing director at DRS Facilities Management, said:
“We have certainly seen an increase in requests from clients for the installation of EV charging points. As more EVs come onto the market and consumer choice grows, prices of these vehicles will fall and we will see more and more of them on the road. The demand for chargers for these vehicles is therefore inevitable.“We know that not having enough charging points in convenient locations deters people from purchasing an EV. It is encouraging to see a greater number of organisations offering different types of rapid EV chargers on site to make charging more accessible, particularly when considering carbon reduction efforts.”
