Adrenaline junkies have just six weeks to sign up to take a leap into the unknown with Tŷ Hafan’s all-new Skydive event.

This thrilling new fundraiser will see participants doing a tandem skydive, jumping from 10,000ft over Swansea Airfield on Saturday 10 August. There are just 25 places available and Tŷ Hafan’s skydivers will reach speeds of up to 120 mph during their breath-taking descent.

James Davies-Hale, Head of Fundraising for Tŷ Hafan, said: “We are so excited about our amazing new Tŷ Hafan Skydive fundraiser. It is the very first time we have done anything like this and we are sure that thrillseekers will absolutely love it.

“You don’t need any previous experience as all training will be provided on the day. You just need to be aged 18 or over and willing to fundraise a minimum of £500 in sponsorship.

“When a child’s life will be short no family should have to live it on their own.

“Yet right now just one in 10 children who desperately need palliative care services are able to access support from Tŷ Hafan and we need to be able to reach every child who needs us.

“So by signing up to this Skydive and fundraising for Tŷ Hafan you will be not only taking a big leap forward in ticking off a highlight on your personal bucket list, but you will be helping children with life-shortening conditions too.”

The Tŷ Hafan Skydive is, in fact, just one of three exciting new events launched by the children’s hospice. For people who prefer to keep their feet much closer to the ground, the Ogi Porthcawl 10K takes place on Sunday 7 July and for the first time ever Tŷ Hafan is offering dedicated places to run and raise funds at this event.

Meanwhile for those supporters who prefer to take life a little more slowly, on Saturday September 14 they will have the chance to take part in Tŷ Hafan’s new ‘Walk To Remember’. This beautiful new fundraising sponsored walk offers people the opportunity to walk from Penarth to the hospice in Sully, setting off at dawn and enjoying a spectacular early autumn sunrise as they raise vital funds for children with life-shortening conditions while remembering their loved ones.
