Whilst LGBT+ founded brewery, Drop Bear Beer Co. believes pride should be celebrated every day of the year, this year the brewer is celebrating pride month with its inaugural limited-edition beer, True Colours.

True Colours is a 0.5% ABV IPA with a soft bitterness and a juicy hop profile of stone fruits and tropical fruits. The beer is brewed in collaboration with hop merchants, Charles Faram, and will showcase Vista and Nectaron hops.

Galop UK is the UK’s leading LGBT+ anti-abuse charity. It works with and for LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse and violence. The charity will receive 10p from every can of True Colours sold, which will support its much-needed support and advice services.

Amy Roch, Interim CEO of LGBT+ anti-abuse charity, Galop, said: “We’re so grateful that Drop Bear Beer’s Pride beer will feature Galop’s National Hate Crime Helpline number.”

“Through our frontline services, Galop supports thousands of LGBT+ abuse and violence survivors every year. At a time when LGBT+ people are facing higher levels of abuse and violence, Drop Bear Beer are helping us to provide a lifeline for those in need.”

“Thank you to Drop Bear Beer for their support of LGBT+ survivors.”

LGBT+ founders and married couple, Joelle and Sarah Drummond were the subject of a hate crime in 2022. This event served as a stark reminder to the couple of the importance of visibility and representation, leading to an ongoing charity partnership with Galop UK.

“True Colours is more than just a beer, it’s a reminder that we should all help create a world in which everyone is safe to show their true colours.” Shared Joelle Drummond, Co-Founder of Drop Bear Beer Co.

“We have a diverse team at Drop Bear and whilst we celebrate pride 365 days a year, we’re so excited to do something special for Pride 2024. As one of very few LGBT+ breweries in the UK, we feel a responsibility to promote the inclusivity and diversity that can exist within the brewing world.”

After meeting in Australia in 2016, the couple moved back to the UK to start-up award-winning non-alcoholic craft brewery, Drop Bear Beer Co. Inspired by a conversation on their first date in Melbourne, the brand has fast become a leader in the low/no beer space with listings in outlets such as Ocado, Planet Organic, and select Coop and Tesco stores.

The beer will be officially launched on Monday 3rd June on the brewer’s website and will be available from stockists such as Eebria Trade, Blas ar Fwyd, The Alcohol-Free Co. and Wise Bartender whilst stocks last.
