North Wales Police are investigating reports of incidents in a wooded area of Holyhead.

On Tuesday, 13th August, a report was received of a man approaching a woman who was walking in Penrhos Nature Reserve, before following her. In addition, police are looking into reports of a man indecently exposing himself in the same area on several occasions between March and May of this year.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with these incidents and is currently assisting with police enquiries.

Detective Constable Leslie Ellis commented, “We are aware of local concerns regarding these incidents and would like to emphasise that reports of this nature are rare in Holyhead. Additional patrols are being conducted in the area for reassurance purposes.”

The police are appealing for anyone with information that might assist with their enquiries to come forward. Detective Constable Ellis also urged anyone who was driving in the area of Penrhos Woods on Tuesday, 13th August, between 7am and 3pm, and may have captured anything suspicious on dashcam, to contact them.

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is encouraged to contact North Wales Police via their website or by calling 101, quoting reference 24000220257.
