Cardiff’s hit country club night WESTERNIGHTS returns to The Globe

WESTERNIGHTS, Cardiff’s only club night dedicated to hot country music, is to return to the Capital’s much-loved live music venue, The Globe, on Friday 13th December. Following two sold out events in 2024, revellers at WESTERNIGHTS can expect non-stop Nashville hits from the likes of Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, Lainey Wilson, Megan Moroney, Bailey Zimmerman, Tucker Wetmore, and more. For fans of this exploding genre, they’re in for a dang good time at yet another honky-tonk takeover at The Globe.

Hot country music – a modern wave of the traditional country sound blending pop, electro and RnB – is the fastest growing genre in the UK. Fuelled by the listening habits of Gen-Z and millennials, country music has been dominating the UK charts and live scenes with artists such as Luke Combs, Megan Moroney and Morgan Wallen. With its soaring popularity and the likes of Ed Sheeran and Beyonce jumping on the bandwagon too, Cardiff has now got the country music bug and is going bonkers for it at WESTERNIGHTS.

The birth of WESTERNIGHTS, founded by the Swansea-born and based country music fan, Helen Wild, has given a permanent space for the genre in Cardiff; a home for people who love country music to become part of the city’s first dedicated country community.

There are no gimmicks at WESTERNIGHTS. Forget obvious fancy dress and themes of inflatable horses, mechanical bulls and fluffy cowboy hats; WESTERNIGHTS delivers a fully immersive, authentic experience right in the heart of the city, without having to go to Nashville.

As the WESTERNIGHTS community burgeons, so has its online community. It’s been particularly resourceful for solo cowboys and cowgirls to arrange pre-event hangs and meet ups with fellow country music lovers who’ve found themselves as the only country fan in their friendship group. Follow @WESTERNIGHTSUK on Instagram and TikTok to get involved.

Staged just under two weeks before Christmas, the December edition of WESTERNIGHTS at The Globe promises to be the ho-ho-hoedown of the year.

With an intimate capacity of just 350 and considering the two former sold-out events, the advice is to book quickly before tickets run out.
