The highly anticipated opening of Søstrene Grene’s first Welsh store is set to open on Friday 11th October. Located at Cardiff’s popular retail and leisure destination, St. David’s Dewi Sant, the homewares brand has a very exciting Grand Opening planned.

Søstrene Grene is a Danish homewares and lifestyle brand with over 300 stores worldwide and ambitious plans to expand to 100 locations in the UK by 2030, aiming for a total of 500 stores globally. Currently operating in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland with 35+ existing stores, the retailer is excited to open its first Welsh store on Friday, 11th October, at 10am at St. David’s Dewi Sant in Cardiff.

To celebrate the launch of the new store, Søstrene Grene will host an exciting Grand Opening featuring an unmissable giveaway. The first 150 customers through the doors at 10 AM will receive a voucher for a free large, tufted rug and a tote bag filled with a selection of Søstrene Grene goodies. There will also be a variety of live performances for shoppers to enjoy.

This store marks the beginning of the brand’s expansion in Wales, introducing their Scandi-inspired products and unique shopping experience to the region for the first time.

Mikkel Grene, CEO and Co-owner of Søstrene Grene, comments: “The opening of our Cardiff store is a fantastic step for Søstrene Grene and we’re looking forward to not only becoming a part of the city’s vibrant community, but introducing our distinctive Scandi-inspired products to Wales.”

Customers can expect to shop affordable, Scandi-inspired designs in a wide range of homewares, furniture, kitchen products, gifting, wrapping paper, crafts, toys, accessories and “mini home” products for children.

The Danish concept of ‘hygge’ – a feeling of comfort and relaxation – is something the brand is always inspired by and the new Cardiff store will be no different. The new store will include the brand’s iconic subdued lighting, relaxing classical music, creative product displays and signature labyrinth-style layout which invites customers to explore at a leisurely pace.

UK Joint Venture Partners, Norma Jacob and Richard Power, manage existing stores across the South of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and are looking forward to the launch of their first Welsh store.

Norma Jacob comments: “This is such an exciting milestone for the brand as we open our first Welsh store. Wales will officially mark the seventeenth country where Søstrene Grene stores are available and so we’re hoping to make this launch really special.”

Richard Power adds: “We’ve got a brilliant Grand Opening planned, with a giveaway that we’re sure customers won’t want to miss. We’re looking forward to joining the surrounding businesses at St. David’s Dewi Sant and adding to the excellent retail offering in Cardiff city centre.”

Søstrene Grene, Cardiff will open at St. David’s Dewi Sant on Friday 11th October at 10am.
