Principality Building Society announces the appointment of Garry Stran, to its Board as a Non-Executive Director.

Having spent a considerable part of his career in the mutual sector, Garry has over 25 years of executive experience across the financial services sector, with a focus on credit risk management and operational and cultural transformation. He has held senior and non-executive level positions at notable organisations including Nationwide, PCF Bank, WH Ireland and Computershare Loan Services.

Garry has a proven track record of commercial success and supporting organisations to execute strategic transformational change, with focus on technology and customer value.

In addition to his extensive experience in shaping strategy, driving digitalisation and modernising culture, Garry has held significant governance related roles as both a Member and Chair of Audit, Risk Management, Credit and Remuneration Committees across listed and privately owned organisations.

Simon Moore, Chair, said, “We are delighted to welcome Garry to the Board. A proven leader at both Executive and Non-Executive Level, he brings a wealth of experience within the financial services industry. Garry’s appointment reflects our commitment to advancing the Society’s ambitious strategic priorities to benefit our members and the communities we serve.”

Garry Stran said, “I am pleased to join Principality as part of their Board. Having spent the formative years of my career in the mutual sector, I have a deep appreciation for the ethos and reputation that Principality holds within Wales, and how this is integrated with its rich heritage. My personal and commercial values align closely to those of the Society, and I look forward to contributing to the ongoing success of the organisation to bring benefits to its Members.”
