Tech Meets Taste as Ogi Launches the Ultimate Cardiff Pasty

Ogi, Wales’s fastest-growing telecoms company, is expanding its menu… literally. Inspired by the success of Cardiff bakers Brutons, the techie team has turned its expertise from fibre optics to flaky pastry with the launch of the Ogi Oggie – the ultimate problem solver for hungry Cardiffians.

“We’ve seen that the way to a Cardiffian’s heart is through a good old fashioned pasty,” said Brand Marketing Director, Sarah Vining. “And while Cardiff might not yet know our broadband, it does know a good pasty. So we thought: why not give them both?”

The flaky launch follows Ogi’s real full fibre rollout into Cardiff’s Central Square at the beginning of 2025, with a menu of business ‘pro’ products from broadband to high-capacity resilience available through its Ogi Pro arm.

“And if you love our Ogi Oggie, just wait until you try our broadband.” Sarah added.

“Growing up, I always dreamed of working at Greggs as a baker,” said Network Field Engineer, Sam Crichton. “Now at Ogi, I’m living my adult dream job in engineering – and getting to bring a new pasty to Cardiff today feels like I’m living that childhood dream too. It’s like having the best of both worlds!”

The Ogi Oggie (the Welsh take on a Cornish pasty) is available in select Cardiff locations from today, and comes with meat and vegan options, with plans for a traditional lamb and leek recipe later in the year.
