People in Wales can expect a mixed week of weather, with spells of sunshine, showers, and periods of heavier rain, according to the Met Office.

Today (Tuesday 16 September) will bring a drier start, though a few isolated showers are still possible. Sunshine is expected through the morning, before turning hazier later in the day. It will remain breezy, though winds should ease as the day goes on, with temperatures reaching around 17°C.

Natural Resources Wales continues to have some flood alerts in place, which can be checked on their website. Meanwhile, Traffic Wales has issued an advisory for the Britannia Bridge on the A55 due to high winds, with restrictions in place for motorcycles and caravans.

Tonight will see cloudier conditions, with showery rain affecting southern and western areas before heavier, more persistent rain moves eastwards overnight. Winds will pick up towards dawn, with temperatures falling to around 11°C.

Wednesday will start with heavy rain, which will clear eastwards through the morning. However, much of the day will stay cloudy with further outbreaks of patchy rain and drizzle, sometimes turning heavy. It will feel breezy, though slightly warmer, with highs of 20°C.

Looking further ahead, the rest of the week (Thursday to Saturday) will remain unsettled. Showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, though brighter intervals are also expected. It will often be breezy, and conditions are set to become a little milder and more humid by the weekend.

You can keep up to date with flood alerts from Natural Resources Wales at: flood-warning.naturalresources.wales.
