Some of these areas will be represented by community councils but not all of them but everyone will live in one of them.
The review will help ensure the boundaries are in the right place should any new community councils are proposed in future.
As the first stage of the review, a consultation is taking place on the present arrangements. It was launched yesterday and runs until 23 November.

Paper copies of the consultation and maps can also be found at the Civic Centre, Newport Central Library, Rogerstone Community Centre, Ringland Community Centre and Caerleon Museum.
The council has a legal duty to review the community arrangements every 12 years and report back to the Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru. Its aim is to ensure communities reflect local identities for effective local government.
Following consideration of the consultation feedback, draft proposals will be drawn up and they will be subject to further consultation, expected to be between January and March next year, before final recommendations are made in July 2026.
Any changes resulting from the review would be in place for local elections in 2027.
