A brand-new adventure park containing ‘tree top level’ climbing features opens tomorrow at Neath’s popular Gnoll Country Park.

Funded by the UK Government, Gnoll Towers is a multi-level adventure playground offering a range of accessible features for visitors of all ages and abilities, including slides, climbing walls, ramps and challenging multi-platform spaces.

On Saturday, October 25th, 2025, the new attraction, which includes a ‘Gnoll Giant’ climbing tower, opened to the public.

The adventure park is part of a larger, multi-million-pound regeneration project for the historic Gnoll Country Park, funded by the UK Government, which also includes:

    • A new, fully accessible visitor centre with a café and children’s soft play area.
    • Restoration of ancient features like the Gnoll House ruins and the park’s spectacular cascades.
    • Upgraded visitor accommodation at Pond Cottage.

Gnoll Country Park is set across 240 acres and features woodlands, open spaces, and several ponds. Other attractions include woodland walks, historical ruins, and a variety of events throughout the year.

Cllr Hunt, Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council, said: “This inclusive play space features interconnected towers on which children can climb, slide, crawl, and explore their way through a world of imaginative and active play.

“From low, accessible platforms to high, adventurous towers, children can choose their own level of challenge – perfect for mixed-ability play. Sensory-rich features, colour-based games, musical elements and quiet zones support a wide range of social and physical needs. This will add to the many attractions at our historic Gnoll Country Park.”

Cllr Phillips, Cabinet Member for Nature, Tourism and Wellbeing, added: “We’re delighted to open the Gnoll Towers Adventure Park featuring of course the impressive and unmissable Giant Gnoll Tower.”

While visiting Gnoll Country Park, don’t miss the ‘Gnollywood’ installation and the magical ‘Tree of Many Faces’ trail which are both open and ready to explore.

This project was funded by the UK Government.
