North Wales Police have confirmed they are not actively searching for anyone else following the death of a woman in Prestatyn.

An 18-year-old man remains in custody on suspicion of murder and is currently being interviewed by detectives.

Officers were called to the Morfa area, near Dawson Drive, shortly before 8.40am on Friday, 24 October, where a woman was sadly found dead.

Extra police officers have been deployed across Prestatyn to provide reassurance, and this increased presence will continue into the weekend.

    Superintendent Lee Boycott said:
“I can confirm that we are not actively looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and I would like to reassure the community that there is no evidence to suggest any wider risk to the public.

“Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the woman’s death, and we are continuing to ask people to avoid the area.

“Increased patrols will remain in place today and throughout the weekend to ensure our communities feel safe and reassured following this incident.

“I would also ask that people do not speculate about the incident online and report any concerns or information to officers at the earliest opportunity.”

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is urged to contact North Wales Police.
