Christmas at Nightingale House Hospice has once again been filled with warmth, wonder and heartfelt moments, as patients, families, staff, volunteers and the wider community came together to celebrate the festive season.
Throughout December, the hospice has been transformed into a welcoming winter setting, with twinkling decorations brightening the building and the sounds of Christmas music filling the air. Staff embraced the spirit of the season by wearing Christmas jumpers and decorating hospice spaces, helping to create a homely and festive atmosphere for patients and families spending time there.
The hospice have welcomed a number of special visitors during the festive period. Local choirs and bell ringers visited to share carols and seasonal music, while real reindeer brought smiles and festive excitement. Patients in the Wellbeing Centre also enjoyed a visit from Wrexham Football Club, giving them the chance to meet players and enjoy a memorable Christmas experience.
The Mayor of Wrexham also visited the Wellbeing Centre, where she spent time with patients and joined in a game of bingo, bringing laughter and festive cheer and genuinely lifting everyone’s spirits.
A particularly meaningful moment in this year’s Christmas programme was the annual Light Up a Light service, which brought families and supporters together to remember loved ones. The service offered a space for quiet reflection, comfort and togetherness during what can be an emotional time of year.

“It’s truly moving to witness the difference these gestures make to the people we care for.”
