The Riverfront has announced the launch of a vibrant new programme of circus workshops led by internationally experienced juggling clown Darryl J Carrington, alongside the brilliant Lucy Lost-It.

Running weekly in Newport, these playful and inclusive sessions invite people of all ages and abilities to step into the world of circus, creativity, and confidence-building.

The programme includes The Circus Playground (Ages 9+), a relaxed and welcoming introduction to juggling, clowning, and physical play, held on Tuesdays from 4.30pm–6pm (£6). Open to young people and adults alike, it’s a fun first step into circus skills with plenty of room to explore at your own pace.

For adults looking to deepen their practice, Big Top Sessions (Ages 18+) take place on Tuesdays from 7pm–9pm (£8). Designed for those with some experience in circus or clowning, these sessions focus on skill-sharing, collaboration, and developing work in a supportive, pressure-free environment.

Completing the programme is the Silver Circus Club, running Fridays from 1pm–2.30pm (£6). Aimed at over-60s (but open to all adults), this joyful workshop celebrates silliness, movement, and trying something new—no experience required.

With over 20 years of global performance experience, Darryl J Carrington brings a wealth of knowledge, humour, and warmth to The Riverfront, supported by Lucy Lost-It, a much-loved family entertainer and circus all-rounder.
