The France national rugby union team have arrived in Wales, touching down at Cardiff Airport this afternoon ahead of their Guinness Six Nations clash with the Wales national rugby union team this weekend.

The two sides meet at the Principality Stadium on Sunday 15 February, with kick off at 3.10pm, in what is expected to be one of the standout fixtures of this year’s tournament.

The French squad were welcomed at the airport as preparations ramp up across the capital for a busy rugby weekend. Their arrival also marks the beginning of a significant influx of travelling supporters from across the Channel.

Cardiff Airport is preparing for a surge in passengers, with 62 additional flights scheduled over the next three days. More than 13,900 French fans are set to fly into the Welsh capital to cheer on their side.

Airport teams say they are working hard to ensure passengers move through the terminal as smoothly as possible during the busy period. Travellers will also benefit from the airport’s Next Generation Security technology, allowing liquids under 100ml and electronic devices to remain in hand luggage during screening.

Supporters heading to the stadium on matchday are being urged to arrive in good time and check the list of prohibited items on the official stadium website, paying close attention to the bag policy.

With tens of thousands of visitors expected in Cardiff over the weekend, a number of road closures will be in place in the city centre. Full details of the closures can be found on Wales247.
