Drivers are being warned of planned overnight closures on the A40 at Maesgwyn later this month and again in June, with diversions set to be in place for traffic travelling between Llandovery and Sennybridge.

According to Traffic Wales, the A40 will be closed in both directions at Maesgwyn from 8pm until 6am across two separate periods to allow works to take place.

The first closure is scheduled from Tuesday 19 May until Thursday 21 May 2026, with the road shut overnight between 8pm and 6am.

A second overnight closure will then take place from Monday 1 June until Tuesday 2 June 2026, again between 8pm and 6am.

During the closures, a diversion route will be in place via the A483, A470 and A40 between Llandovery and Sennybridge.

Traffic Wales has advised motorists to plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys while the diversion is in operation.
