A man has been jailed after being found to be concerned in the supply of cocaine.
Leon Jones, 24 from Merthyr, was sentenced to two years and six months in prison following his conviction.
The sentencing took place on Friday May 15 at Cardiff Crown Court where Jones pleaded guilty to one count of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and one count of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine.
This follows a police investigation into a drugs line working across the mid Glamorgan area. Officers identified a number known to be linked to one of these drug lines and were able to link this number to Jones.
Jones handed himself in at Merthyr police station in December 2025. Following a download of a phone their were clear messages linking it to being involved in the supply of crack cocaine. The phone was also linked to an address in Dowlais. When officers attended that address, they found a quantity of crack cocaine as well as other drug supply paraphernalia.
Detective Sergeant Lia Jones said,“These illegal drugs have devastating consequences on the people further down the chain who end up using them, not to mention their family, friends and wider communities.”
“We will continue to investigate any information you have which could relate to the sale or use of these drugs, including combating drug lines across the region”
