More than 5,000 counterfeit cigarettes, tobacco products and cannabis vapes have been seized from a shop in Roath, Cardiff, following a police raid.

According to South Wales Police, officers attended the premises after witnessing suspicious activity.

A search of the shop uncovered a concealed room where officers discovered a significant quantity of cannabis, cannabis vapes and edible products, along with counterfeit cigarettes.

Police also seized several other items during the operation on Thursday evening (May 14), including mobile phones, cash, weighing scales and a knife.

A 24-year-old man from Cathays was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The premises has since been secured while investigations continue.

South Wales Police said enquiries remain ongoing.
