Cardiff Airport summer season begins as TUI flights depart

Flights have officially started taking off from Cardiff Airport as TUI launches its summer 2026 programme from Wales with a fourth aircraft now based at the airport.

The start of the summer season saw passengers depart this week for a range of popular holiday destinations including Burgas, Faro, Lanzarote, Palma de Mallorca, Gran Canaria, Dubrovnik, Antalya and Heraklion.

The expanded programme comes after TUI confirmed earlier this year that it would increase its Cardiff offering for summer 2026 with the addition of new direct routes to Faro in Portugal and Hurghada in Egypt.

Flights to Hurghada on Egypt’s Red Sea coast will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, giving Welsh travellers direct access to one of the region’s most popular sunshine destinations, known for its warm climate, coral reefs and diving opportunities.

TUI said the addition of a fourth aircraft and the launch of new routes would create thousands of extra seats for passengers flying from Cardiff Airport.

The move is part of continued investment in Cardiff Airport’s summer programme, giving customers across Wales more direct flight options to destinations across Europe and beyond.
