One of Cardiff’s most popular and unique summer events is set to return next month as Graveyard Voices brings the stories of Cathays Cemetery’s notable residents back to life.
Organised by A48 Theatre Company in collaboration with Cardiff Bereavement Services and Living Lines, the immersive guided walks will take place at Cathays Cemetery on three dates in July.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the Grade II Listed cemetery while meeting characters inspired by some of the people buried there, portrayed by actors along the route.
This year’s production features 10 brand-new scripts and characters, offering audiences fresh stories to discover among the atmospheric grounds of one of Cardiff’s most historic landmarks.
Performances will take place at 7pm on Tuesday, July 7 and Thursday, July 9, with an afternoon performance at 2pm on Sunday, July 12. An additional indoor performance will be held in The Chapel at 7pm on Wednesday, July 8.
Guests are asked to meet outside The Chapel around 30 minutes before the start of each performance. The guided walks and performances are expected to last approximately 90 minutes.
The atmospheric grounds of Cathays Cemetery are home to some of Cardiff’s most notable residents, making the event a fascinating blend of local history, storytelling and theatre.
Graveyard Voices has built a loyal following over the years and regularly sells out well in advance, with organisers encouraging those interested to book early.
Tickets for all performances are priced at £10, with parking available around The Chapel.
