A Cardiff family is being offered the chance to become the first people through the doors of the new Hollywood Bowl XL entertainment centre at St David’s and help shape the visitor experience before it officially opens.

The UK’s leading ten-pin bowling and competitive socialising brand has launched a search for a family to take on the role of “Chief Fun Officers” at its new Cardiff venue, which is currently being completed in the city centre.

The successful applicants will be invited to an exclusive pre-opening event on July 15, where they will be among the first to experience the new attraction and provide feedback on everything from the activities to the food and drink offering.

The new Hollywood Bowl XL Cardiff St David’s venue will feature 20 ten-pin bowling lanes, interactive darts, electric go-karting and a live sports bar.

The centre will also make history for the brand, becoming the first Hollywood Bowl XL venue in the UK to include electric go-karting, adding a new attraction to the entertainment experience.

As part of their duties, the winning family will be invited to test the bowling lanes and scoring systems, try out the new amusements area and sample a range of food and drink, including burgers, hot dogs, chicken wings, shakes and cocktails for adults.

To enter, families are being asked to submit a 60-second video explaining why they should be selected. Entries must be sent via Instagram direct message to @hollywoodbowluk before midnight on June 19.

Applications can be submitted by children accompanied by a parent or guardian, or by families applying together. A maximum of two adults and three children can take part, with entries judged on creativity, enthusiasm and personality.

Jeremy Verecchia, Area Support Manager for Hollywood Bowl XL Cardiff St David’s, said: “Getting the community involved with our new centre is important to us. We want to make sure we’re offering the best experience possible, so what better way to do that than by hearing directly from families and bowling fans? We can’t wait to see who will join us in this exciting new role at Hollywood Bowl XL Cardiff St David’s!”

The winning family will be selected and contacted by June 26 and must be available when the venue opens to claim their prize.

Bookings for the new centre are expected to open shortly, with customers encouraged to sign up to the venue’s VIP mailing list for updates and exclusive offers.

The opening is also creating more than 50 jobs, with recruitment currently underway for team member and management positions at the new Cardiff attraction.
