DPP Planning, one of the UK’s leading independent planning consultancies, has welcomed three new planners to its Cardiff headquarters, with Nia Williams, Frank Walsh and Kuba Sala joining its ranks.
Nia Williams joins DPP as Planner, having recently completed a Masters in Spatial Planning and Development at Cardiff University. Nia also has a degree in Geography from the University of Bristol and is currently working to gain her MRTPI accreditation.
During her studies, Nia worked at Pembrokeshire County Council as part of their planning admin team, before moving to a small consultancy in Cardiff for a year as an Assistant Planner, gaining invaluable experience. In addition, Nia currently volunteers with Planning Aid Wales, where she helps members of the community with planning queries.
Frank Walsh has also been appointed as a Planner, having had previous experience with Wirral Council and Alder King Property Consultants. He graduated from Newcastle University with a Master of Planning degree last year.
The third addition to the team is Kuba Sala, who has been appointed as an Assistant Planner. Kuba is currently in the second year of a planning degree at Cardiff University and is taking a year out from his studies to work full time with DPP. He will then continue to work with DPP for two-days per week at the end of next summer, when he returns to university to complete the third year of his degree.
Gareth Hooper, CEO at DPP Planning, said of the new appointments: “We’re thrilled to have Nia, Frank and Kuba joining the team here at Cardiff, all of whom are very talented and knowledgeable individuals in the early stages of their careers. They’ve already shown that they’re capable of delivering excellent results throughout their studies and previous roles, so we can’t wait to see what they achieve at DPP.
“These appointments demonstrate that DPP continues to be a leading destination for the sector’s top talent and highlight our commitment to supporting young professionals as they take their first steps into the industry. We’re delighted to give them the platform they need to learn and succeed and look forward to watching them grow and develop.”
