Sherman Theatre is giving audiences in Cardiff the chance to experience some of Wales’ most exciting theatre before it heads to the world’s largest arts festival, with a special Edinburgh Previews season this summer.
The programme will feature three Welsh productions ahead of their runs at the 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, offering theatre lovers an early look at new and returning shows before they travel to Scotland.
Running from 7 to 31 August, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is one of the world’s biggest arts festivals, attracting thousands of performers and audiences from across the globe.
Leading the Cardiff previews is Amnesia, a brand new one woman play written and performed by Kimberly Hart-Simpson, best known for her roles in Coronation Street and Brassic. Directed by Kate Wasserberg in association with Theatr Clwyd, the production runs at Sherman Theatre from 16 to 18 July.
The play follows Kelly, a dementia carer from Rhyl who is juggling the challenges of her work, friendships and a life changing secret. Described as an emotional and energetic production, Amnesia combines humour with heartfelt storytelling.
The production also marks the fifth consecutive year that Sherman Theatre has partnered with the Pleasance to support a Welsh artist taking work to the Edinburgh Fringe.

Families can also enjoy the return of Owl at Home on 1 August. Produced by Theatr Iolo, the show is aimed at children aged five and over and tells the story of Owl, whose imagination transforms everyday objects into extraordinary adventures as he searches for friendship.
Closing the preview season is Songs From Across The Sueniverse, running from 19 to 20 August. Presented by Sueniverse Productions, the musical comedy follows the much loved character Sue Timms on a humorous and uplifting journey across Wales, celebrating resilience, kindness and community through song.
The special performances offer audiences a chance to support Welsh theatre before the productions take to the international stage at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
