Families visiting Bryngarw Country Park can once again enjoy its children’s play area after it officially reopened this week following a major redevelopment.
More than £200,000 has been invested in the project, with funding support from Bridgend County Borough Council, the Welsh Government and project partners.
The upgraded play area has been redesigned to provide an even better space for children of all ages and abilities to play, explore and enjoy the outdoors.
Among the new features are a forest canopy adventure tower, a five metre climbing net, new swings and a dedicated toddler zone.
Inclusive play equipment has also been retained as part of the redevelopment, including the wheelchair accessible swing, inclusive roundabout and trampoline, helping ensure the play area remains welcoming for all children.
The investment is part of Bridgend County Borough Council’s commitment to creating high quality, inclusive outdoor spaces that support children’s wellbeing, encourage active play and bring communities together.
The council has thanked everyone involved in delivering the project, as well as visitors for their patience while the improvement works were carried out.
The upgraded play area is now open in time for the summer holidays, with families invited to enjoy the new facilities at Bryngarw Country Park.
