Swansea Building Society has appointed experienced financial technology entrepreneur and business leader Martin Breach as a Non-Executive Director.
A Swansea resident, Martin brings more than 13 years of senior leadership experience in the financial services and technology sector, having helped banks, building societies and finance providers across the UK and internationally modernise their operations, improve customer services and navigate complex regulatory environments.
His appointment further strengthens the Society’s expertise in technology, digital transformation and governance as it continues to invest in new services and digital capabilities while remaining committed to its mutual values and strong local presence across Wales.
Martin most recently served as Managing Director and shareholder of Oyster Bay Systems and Profile Data Services, specialist financial technology businesses that delivered mission-critical lending and account management systems to financial institutions operating in 12 countries. He successfully led the growth of the businesses before overseeing their sale and integration into the Aryza Group.
During his career, Martin has worked with a range of financial institutions, including building societies, banks and specialist lenders, delivering major technology transformation programmes, infrastructure upgrades, data migrations and process improvements. His experience spans strategic leadership, risk management, governance, operational improvement and digital innovation.
Martin holds a First Class BEng degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and has built a reputation for delivering sustainable growth, operational excellence and customer-focused innovation throughout his career.
His appointment comes at a time when Swansea Building Society continues to expand its range of services, including the development of competitive online savings products that enable customers across Wales to benefit from the Society’s mutual approach while accessing modern digital banking services.
