The 2026 Cardiff Half Marathon is asking for a range of community groups to get involved in this year’s event.

Taking place on Sunday 4 October this year has seen more than 29,000 participants sign up to run, and it’s set to bring its electric race day atmosphere to the city.

Spectators and supporters are expected to come out in their droves to cheer on their loved ones. To help add even more excitement and buzz, the Cardiff Half Marathon is asking community groups to be a part of event day.

New for this year, the Cardiff Half is launching Ein Dinas – meaning Our City – to create an unforgettable atmosphere for runners and supporters and help showcase what makes Cardiff so great – its people.

Community groups, cheer squads, live bands and performers from all walks of life will line key points around the course, filling the streets with energy to celebrate the people and cultures that make Cardiff so special.

Designed to give runners a welcome lift when they need it most and inspire thousands of supporters, Ein Dinas aims to transform the city into a celebration of diversity, inclusion and community spirit, showing that the Cardiff Half Marathon truly is a race for everyone.

Rachel Madge, Senior Event Manager at the Cardiff Half Marathon, said: “Ein Dinas is all about bringing the city to life on race day and creating memorable moments for everyone involved. We want the route to be filled with noise, music, vibrancy and encouragement, giving participants that extra boost when they need it most, while creating exciting places for spectators to gather and soak up the atmosphere.

“We’re really keen to hear from community groups across Cardiff who want to be part of that experience. Whether you’re a local sports club, cultural group, charity, school, dance group, music act or another community organisation, we’d love to hear from you and find out how you could help us showcase the incredible diversity and spirit of our city. This is a celebration of Cardiff, and we want as many people as possible to be part of it.”

Those who are interested in getting involved in this year’s race are being encouraged to get in touch with the event, sharing details about their group and how they’d like to support – whether that be through a cheer station, live music, dance or other performance. If selected their details will also be shared on an interactive map, allowing runners to know where they can be spotted around the course.
