A leading director at educational charity Techniquest is “beyond honoured” to have been named among the Top 100 Business Women in Wales.

Linda Burbage, Business Services Director at Cardiff’s leading science discovery centre was honoured by the prestigious list chosen by Pinkspiration in partnership with I Am WOMAN.

The annual list, which celebrates the invaluable impact and contribution of Welsh women in business, was revealed at a glamourous event this week at Cardiff’s Mercure Hotel.

Since joining Techniquest in 2014, Mrs Burbage has played a key role in the charity’s mission to inspire the next generation of budding scientists. Managing over 130 employees, the business management expert has also supported the organisation as it continues to steer itself towards a more sustainable future.

She said: “To be recognised at such a prestigious event is incredibly rewarding and I’d like to congratulate all of my fellow nominees on their achievements this year.

“The Top 100 Business Women in Wales is celebrating the phenomenal achievements and innovation of women across the country, and I am beyond honoured to be in such remarkable company.

“It’s been a busy year at Techniquest and to receive this news is the cherry on top of a fantastic year. After being rewarded over £3m in funding from the Inspiring Science Fund, we’re currently working on Science Capital, a ground-breaking project which will see a radical transformation and extension of our current building.”

Lesley Kirkpatrick, CEO at Techniquest said:

“Linda has been a wonderful asset to our team and she is instrumental to the organisation during such an exciting time. We’re all thrilled to see her hard work receive the recognition it deserves.”
